ELEMENTS OF BEL CANTO STYLE
Thank you so much for signing up and devoting your time to this endeavor. We are excited to have you join us!
Today's class will be all about practicing and incorporating the style of bel canto. I have brought on a special guest, Professor FRANCESCO IZZO, who is a leading expert in the field of interpretation of BEL CANTO AND VERDI. We will go into some of the biggest factors that will help you prepare and interpret this music: structure, articulation, phrasing, variation, and most of all, MUSIC MAKING.
He will be speaking live with the 1pm class, and we will record it. At the 7pm class we will play an encore presentation of his recorded discussion.
Upon entry into the class, you will be asked to change your name to your full name, as a participant, and include a couple of letters to tell us a bit about yourself. Choose whichever category best describes you, doesn’t have to be exact! You can also put more than one.

CLASS STRUCTURE
Today's class will run 90 minutes. It will consist of a lecture portion by Francesco Izzo and a discussion including musical examples and Q and A.
TOP DONOR PRIVILEGE:
In order to honor the people who have donated the most to this effort, we have created a Top Donor Privilege. After the 90 minute class, all those who have donated $50 or more will be invited to a private Zoom class where we will have one on one question time. Using the "raise hand" feature, Top Donors will be unmuted and allowed to ask any questions they like, for a 1 hour follow up session. **Zoom codes are sent automatically for these classes as soon as you reach TOP DONOR status!**
In the meantime, as always, ALL are welcome to attend as many of the free lectures as possible. I will try to answer as many questions from the chat as I can!
Below is a Google Doc with the topics for Saturday's class.
